Permanent Residential Care
Myth - 'all residential aged care facities are the same'
Fact - 'all residential aged care facilities are different'
Whilst all residential aged care facilities must meet the same aged care standards to recieve Government funding, how they deliver care can vary.
Permanent residential care will be provided in a manner that suits the resident population such as, culturally and linguistically diverse groups and/or residents living with special needs. By this we mean, a facility providing care and services to residents from:
from a particular ethnic background
from a religious background
from a cultural background - for example, war veterans
living with memory loss or requiring a more secure living environment.
