Fact - 'it is always your choice where you stay'
Respite is short care provided in a residential facility. It is generally accessed by clients recouperating from illness, needing a rest or requiring placement whilst their carer takes a break.
Approved clients can access 63 respite days a year. However; facilities may not be able to offer the full 63 days in one go.Their existing respite bookings will determine the length of stay offered to you.
Before proceeding with your placements we have to make certain of a few things. In particular, does your preferred facility:
offer respite care?
offer respite care at the level requied?
have the ability to offer the exact dates and length of stay requried?
Jigsaw will laisie with aged care providers to determine suitability and secure successful placement.
Respite care will be provided in a manner that suits the resident population such as, culturally and linguistically diverse groups and/or residents living with special needs. By this we mean, a facility providing care and services to residents from:
particular ethnic backgrounds
cultural backgrounds - for example, war veterans
living with a memory loss or requiring a more secure living environment.
